Soup Kitchen Child Sponsorship Scheme

Why this scheme?
For many children living in remote villages along the Amazon River and its tributaries, a nutritious daily meal is not something they can rely on. The Road To Peru has partnered with Fr Raymond Portelli who runs a soup kitchen for children living along the banks of the Amazon River and its tributaries. This sponsorship scheme helps ensure that 50 children receive the nourishment they need during the most critical years of their growth.

What the scheme provides
When you sponsor a child, you help provide:
One nutritious meal a day 6 days a week for children from villages along the Amazon and its tributaries.
These meals are not “whatever is available”. They are carefully designed by a dedicated nutritionist and prepared by dedicated cooks, so that each meal supports healthy development, strength, and wellbeing.
Why it matters
A reliable, balanced meal can change everything: energy to learn, resilience against illness, and the dignity of knowing that someone cares. For children growing up in poverty and isolation, proper nutrition is not a luxury, it is the foundation for life, education, and hope.
With around €1 a day, you can help provide a child with a meal that truly nourishes.
