Aneka Paula Balzan, aged 37, was born in the UK and spent the first thirteen years of her life there before moving to Malta. After completing her education up to sixth form in Malta, Aneka returned to the UK, where she earned a BSc in Aeronautical Engineering from Cardiff University. Upon graduating, Aneka embarked on a global journey as an Aeronautical Engineer, gaining invaluable experience and living in seven different countries.

Eventually, Aneka felt there was a need for a career change and returned to Malta where she transitioned into the Maritime Industry. She began her new career as a crew member on super yachts, then progressed to the role of Project Manager. Currently, Aneka serves as a Flag and Port State Inspector for the Merchant Shipping Directorate. Her diverse background and extensive international experience have equipped her with a unique perspective and a wealth of knowledge in both Aeronautical and Marine Engineering.

Aneka’s passion for travel is evident in her personal mission to visit every country in the world. Aneka has visited 75 countries so far. She is also dedicated to volunteering, especially on projects in different countries, which allows her to give back to the global community. Her adventurous spirit and dedication to exploring new cultures continue to drive her both personally and professionally.
